World-class Cubase expert Greg Ondo recently stopped by audioMIDI.com HQ to make some tutorial vids showing off some of Cubase 5's great new features (in widescreen hi-def too- click the video to go to YouTube and see the hi-def version). We've got three more on the way, so watch for 'em! Get Steinberg Cubase 5 HERE.

RME Babyface (L.A.
This swift little guy seems to be positioned to out-Duet Apogee's class-dominating wee audio interface. It's a 24 bit/192kHz handheld audio interface with stereo analog I/O (w/mic pres), one ADAT I/O, phones out, bus power and "TotalMix" DSP mixer with FX. Yowsa that, sir.

What's Mu?
The cat is officially out of the bag: Jazzmutant has released the Mu plug-in, a software package for the Lemur touchscreen controller transforming it into a formidable Ableton Live controller. The best part is instant auto-integration into existing Live sets via drag-and-drop. No muss, no fuss. Check out a video HERE.
As I edge in on 40, I become more and more out of touch with those wacky kids of today... apparently the keytar (er, "shoulder synth" in Roland-speak) is big with the younger generation- especially those who color-coordinate their shoes and blouses (just like I used to do with my red Capezio's and red leather... oh, forget it). The Lucina brings 150 high-quality sounds, a 37-note keyboard with 128-voice polyphony, battery power, um, cheap, light, and best of all, available in far more evil black for when the harmless little lassy above realizes she hates her mom and starts shopping at Hot Topic.

Ok, not exactly the MS-20 reissue I might have hoped for, but it is truly analog and it does have an authentic MS-10/MS-20 Sallen-Key squelch-o-matic filter. It's tiny; about the size of a cell phone, and judging from the less-then-virtuousic performances in the this YouTube vid, you won't be intimidating Rick Wakeman any time soon on the tiny 1 1/4-octave membrane keyboard. Korg is throwing around models like the PS-3000 and MS-series synths of the 70's in their blurbage, which is kind of like comparing a paper airplane to an F-16, but whatevs. The good news is the cost: somewhere between $55 and $85 dollars.

Don't Hate Me Because I'm Beautiful: FREE Native Instruments Traktor Shirt
