You without iSyn cast the first, uh...
Friday, April 3, 2009 at 4:20PM
Time to let the proverbial feline out of the container! In just a few short days, the iTunes App Store will begin selling iSyn, a virtual music studio for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch developed by audioMIDI.com and programmed by Harry Gohs of Virsyn Software Synthesizer (the audioMIDI.com part of the equation largely being me trading a lot of email with Harry in Germany, driving him nuts asking for a ton of features).
iSyn features two fully programmable virtual-analog synthesizers and a drum machine. The synths are the real deal- three oscillators, 24 db/octave ladder filters, two envelope generators, full mod routings, effects, the works. And the drum machine has eight fully-editable kits. Rather than me spew out all the specs here, just go to the iSyn web site for full specs, demo songs, and more info about iSyn than you could ever want to know.
Here's a swift video showing a quick run through of how to create a song with the grid sequencer and "live" playing modes. We should have it in the iTunes App Store next week (it's been Apple-approved already), and it'll be be ridiculously affordable at $4.99. If you're into electronic music and have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you're gonna love this.
