Arturia Origin, now with keyboard

The title says it all, right? Arturia will be shipping the keyboard version of their virtual synth monster imminently. I know it's real because I played it (and they had more than one there). The software's been revised and now inludes a drawbar organ module for raunchy Deep Purple fun. Ships soon at $2999.

Origin-al sin

Here's installment three of three of my Arturia Origin virtual analog synth series wherein I yak some more and show off lots of nifty sounds. Observe and enjoy. (BTW, we're doing a super-exclusive special: purchase the Arturia Origin desktop synthesizer and receive a FREE copy of Arturia Analog Factory 2- a $249 value... yay!)

Origin 'n' juice...

Here we have the super exclusive audioMIDI.com video for Arturia's Origin hardware virtual synth. They're just shipping, so the one I used in the video is a prototype. It's a neat piece of kit, but there's been all kinds of talk about whether it's "worth it", as it's basically a host for existing plug-ins. On the other foot, it lets you combine all the individual modules from each synth in a suprisingly easy and intuitive way, and has a step sequencer, effects, and fast and easy UI clearly intended to be used in a live setting. What d'yall think? (btw, there's more Arturia vid on the way where I go through the front panel close up and play a bunch of sounds).

NAMM '09- Moogs 'n' Brass with Arturia

Arturia has gone and updated their evergreen Minimoog V to version 2.0 with cool features like sound MAP which lets you search and morph patches in creative ways, a vocal formant filter for faux-speaking effects and nifty architecture improvements including a beefier mod matrix. And just for fun, you can program parameter automation right into patches for additional movement (kinda like the old Korg Wavestation. That was fun...). Free update for Minimoog V owners and shipping, like, really soon. And for the blowhards and windbags in the crowd (sorry), Arturia Brass gets the v2 treatment as well with a new sax model (because the sax always gets old after a while, right?), nifty auto-harmonization options, a room spatializer and more MIDI options. This outta be a nice companion to the new Akai EWI USB wind controller... call audioMIDImidi.com and we'll make you deal you can't refuse!
