We got DBeat- well, not yet.

Being a Mac-type human, I must admit I've judged Open Labs products "from afar", if you will. And I may have openly questioned their aesthetics from time to time. But losing the keys and putting an Open Labs workstation in an MPC-style case makes a bit more sense in my brain. It looks nice, and you get a 12" multi-touch capable screen, a trackball, and a place for your iPod. No cupholders though. I'm still a little hokey on the Presonus-audio-interface-shoved-in-the-front concept, but outside of that, this should be a pretty sweet all-in-one box, packing a not-unsubstantial wallop of power compared with Akai MPC boxes of the same form factor.
Price is $3999, but Open Labs is offering a factory rebate of $500 if pre-ordered before 6/10/09. Full scoopage on DBeat here.
